Plainfield South marked a couple of milestones Thursday, beating Lockport for the first time -- 2-1 in Class 4A action at Bolingbrook -- and advancing to its first sectional final.

Lockport was outhit 8-5 by Wheaton-Warrenville South in Saturday's Class 4A Lockport Regional final. Normally, that's bad news for a team in the playoffs. But the Porters managed quality in the face of the Tigers' quantity and pulled out a 1-0 win.
