afternoon at Redbird Arena on the campus of Illinois State University
by grinding out its second straight Class 1A championship 38-32 over
Jacksonville Routt. The Royals (33-2) became just the sixth small
school girls program to win consecutive titles and tenth overall in
state history. They are also the only girls team to win multiple state
titles in The Beacon-News coverage area.<br><br>]]></description>
