What people will remember are the events that transpired right in front of the Curie bench with mere seconds left to go in the game. With hundreds of people watching, senior Quaashi Chandler of Curie passed away due to mucus blocking the airways of his lungs.

Coroner: Blocked airways caused player's death

A preliminary autopsy on Saturday revealed that Curie football player Quaashi Chandler died Friday night from mucus plugging airways in the lungs. Chandler collapsed late in Curie's game against Bolingbrook on Friday.
