On Saturday afternoon at North Central College in Naperville, the Lions (24-4-1) showed once again why they have been one of the area's best teams all season with a 1-0 victory over Peoria Notre Dame (23-3-1) in the Class 2A championship game.

Upstate EIght race nearly final

Neuqua Valley will attempt to complete a clean sweep of the entire Upstate Eight Conference when the Wildcats host East Aurora at 4:30 p.m. today. Neuqua clinched the outright regular-season championship with its 4-0 win against Bartlett on Tuesday. The Wildcats have outscored their UEC foes 32-1.
