Simeon's Anderson signs with Grambling

Simeon senior Josh Anderson signed with Grambling on Thursday.

He’s the fourth Simeon senior to earn a Division I basketball scholarship this year. Kenyon Smith (Illinois State), Pierre Sneed (Ball State) and Stan Simpson (Illinois) all signed during the early signing period.

“I went down there last summer and I fell in love with it,” Anderson said. “It felt like family down there. I weighed my options during the season, but I think it’s the right place for me.”

Anderson chose Grambling over UIC, Montana State, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville and South Florida.

Anderson is the son of former NBA and Illinois star Nick Anderson.

“My dad left the decision to me,” Anderson said. “He told me it’s what you do when you get to college that matters the most.”
