Nick Adamle is yet another from a long line of outstanding lineman produced at the two Wheaton high schools.
The nephew of former NFL running back and current Chicago sportscaster Mike Adamle, the Falcons’ rock-solid guard wants something the Falcons’ crosstown rivals Wheaton-Warrenville South garnered last fall: a Class 8A state championship.
“The No. 1 thing is that he is a great kid,” said Wheaton North coach Matt Foster. “Everything with him starts from the inside out. He has great character and a great work ethic. He is a heck of a good leader.”
Adamle, who is headed to Northwestern next fall, is emblematic of a newer generation of athletes unfathomable to lineman of yesteryear: a 290-pound high school guard.
“Truthfully, I can’t say enough about him,” continued Foster. He is just an awesome kid. I think he has fantastic athletic skills for a kid his size.”
The Falcons open with Addison Trail at home.
