Jannelle Flaws' goal late in the first half made the difference as Glenbrook South edged New Trier 1-0 Thuersday in the Class AA Niles North Sectional final.
With 16 seconds left before halftime, Katelyn Kishkumas slipped a pass though the New Trier defense to Jannelle Flaws, who beat her defender and goalie Kelsey Atkinson to give Glenbrook South (21-2-1) the win.
"The game went exactly as I pictured it," said Glenbrook South coach Seong Ha. "We had to fight for everything mentally and physically. That was just a great goal by Flaws."
The game-winning goal by Flaws was her 35th of the year for the Spartans.
"I was looking for a rebound and then I saw the ball," Flaws said. "I heard the goalie coming and was able to get to the ball."
New Trier finished 19-5-2.
