Tricia Liston scored early and often Thursday night, on drives and putbacks, three-pointers and free throws. When it was all over, the Fenwick senior had a career-high 39 points and the No. 6 Friars had opened their season with an 84-42 road win over crosstown rival Oak Park.
Lockport senior forward Meghan Barney got a nice present on her 18th birthday. A victory over Lemont. Barney scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds and senior guard Amber Surdokaite added a team-high 16 points as Lockport held on for a 50-46 win over Lemont.
It took awhile to get started, but when all was said and done, Burlington Central came away with a 60-46 win over Lisle on Thursday in pool play at the Rockets' own Thanksgiving Tournament.
The Oswego girls basketball team would like to think defense is its No. 1 priority. However, if a lot of offense happens, that's OK too. For the second time this week, the Panthers scored 60 or more points, this time against Plainfield South.
