Monday's girls basketball roundup

Maine West pulled away from Palatine in the second half to post a 48-41 victory Monday as the girls basketball tipped off around the Chicago area.

Back-to-back jump shots from Ellen Coogan helped the host Warriors build an eight-point lead en route to the nonconference victory.

''In the second half, we were really able to hold on to our lead,'' Maine West coach Derril Kipp said. Samantha Hosta scored 21 points and Megan O'Neill added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors.

Plainfield North 54, Lincoln-Way North 40: The Tigers' Kendra Lumpkin had 15 points, six rebounds and six blocks, while Katie Kramer added 13 points and five assists.

Curie 54, Lindblom 33: Tierra Williams scored 18 points and brought down 15 rebounds to lead the Condors. Brittney Wells added 16 points and sevem assists.

Eisenhower 41, Jones 15: The Cardinals were led by Crystall Dooley with 10 points and Kaitlyn Delseth, who brought down 10 rebounds.

Gordon Tech 84, St. Gregory 7: Alexis Martinez had 19 points and 18 rebounds for Gordon Tech.

Grant 46, Fremd 37: Gina Cellucci's 16 points led the way for Grant.

Latin 59, Brooks 33: Lstin's Brittney Cato had 18 points, six rebounds and five assists, while teammate Nikki Dizon added 15 points and three assists.

Morgan Park Academy 61, Waldorf 24: Eileen Cullina had 15 points while Sydney Stewart added 10 points, 11 rebounds and six steals for the Warriors.

Prairie Ridge 59, Vernon Hills 52: Julie Schwartz scored 17 points to help the Wolves get the victory.

Prospect 44, Libertyville 36: Rachel Hunt scored 16 and Alyssa Baker had 12 points to lead Prospect to victory.

Rich South 62, Oak Forest 57, OT: Niara Harris led the way for Rich South, finishing with 15 points, nine rebounds, six steals and five assists.

St. Edward 70, Serena JV 24: Katie Yohn and Vincenza Ranallo each scored 15 as the Green Wave won easily at the Somonauk Tournament.

Thornridge 48, Fenger 42: Angie Johnson had 19 points, six assists and three steals to lead the Falcons.

Westminster Christian 42, Alden-Hebron 33: Sarah Rodgers scored 13 as Westminster won at the Rockford Christian Tournament.
