Marshall guard Adrienne GodBold made a verbal commitment to Illinois coach Jolette Law. The 5-9 senior, who helped lead the Commandos to the Class 3A title in March, made her decision after Illinois coaches visited on Tuesday.
"I'm very happy to be going to the University of Illinois," GodBold said. "I'm also kind of happy that all the [recruiting] phone calls are going to stop."
GodBold, the highest-rated senior in Illinois was recruited by schools from all over, but her high school coach, Dorothy Gaters said since the summer, that with a large family she believed that GodBold would wind up close to home.
GodBold, who also runs cross-country, has a meet on Thursday.
