Class 4A state football: Aurora Christian and Bloomington Central Catholic uncorked a classic on Friday, combining to set or tie 13 individual and team Class 4A championship game records. Here's a list of the accomplishments.
Considering what it was up against, Geneva's defense -- in particular
its front seven -- definitely held its own against East St. Louis in a
33-14 loss on Saturday in the Class 7A state championship game at
Memorial Stadium.
Maine South got here in large part on the arm of quarterback Charlie
Goro. But in the finale it was the legs of Goro, Matt Perez and Joey
Orlando that were the difference.
