For the first time in recent history, the Chicago area has three quarterbacks committed to major college programs: Wheaton North's Taylor Graham (Ohio State), Downers Grove South's Chandler Whitmer (Illinois) and Lake Forest's Tommy Rees (Notre Dame).
YourSeason.com will follow all three and Hinsdale Central's John Whitelaw, the Sun-Times' preseason pick for its All-Area team, throughout the season.
Here is how they fared in Week 2:
TAYLOR GRAHAM, WHEATON NORTH
Performance: The Ohio State recruit was 14-for-30 for 143 yards in a 35-9 loss to Lake Zurich on Friday.
Up next: Graham and the Falcons (1-1) travel to West Chicago Friday for their first DuPage Valley conference game. West Chicago (0-2) has scored only 13 points in its first two games.
TOMMY REES, LAKE FOREST
Performance: The Notre Dame recruit made up for his lackluster performance in Week 1 by passing for astounding 526 yards and six touchdowns against Kenosha Bradford. But the Scouts still lost 56-48. Rees was 17-for-19 for 250 yards in the first half.
Up next: Rees and Lake Forest (0-2) head to Libertyville in Week 3. Libertyville lost to neighborhood rival Carmel in Week 2.
CHANDLER WHITMER, DOWNERS GROVE SOUTH
Performance: The Illinois recruit was 16-for-26 for 190 yards, an interception and 16-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Oruche in a 27-13 loss to Glenbard West.
Up next: Whitmer and the Mustangs (0-2) travel to Leyden on Friday for a West Suburban Gold matchup. Leyden (1-1) lost to Proviso West 25-11 in Week 2.

Up next: The Red Devils head to Glenbard West, another ranked team, on Saturday afternoon for a West Suburban Silver game. The Hilltoppers are 2-0. It is one of the top games of Week 3.
