Sandburg is off to its best start in 10 years after rolling to a 35-7 SouthWest Suburban Blue road victory over Joliet on Saturday.
The Eagles (5-1, 2-0) trailed the Steelmen (1-5, 0-2) 7-0 midway through the second quarter before scoring five straight touchdowns.
Brent Kondziolka (19 carries, 91 yards) scored on touchdown runs of three and one yards for Sandburg, which had 220 rushing yards and 390 total yards.
Tony Stramaglia (six catches, 145 yards receiving) caught scoring passes of 56 and 17 yards from Bryan Hansen (7-of-9, 170 yards passing), who scored on a three yard run.
Mike Schofield blocked a field goal, Ryan Johnson blocked a punt and Mike Ryan intercepted a pass for the Eagles, who have won four in a row.
"The offensive line blocked great, the defense played well after the first quarter and it was just a total team effort," Kondziolka said. "We're in a hot streak now and we just keep getting better."
Joliet took a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when Ronald Jordan (10 catches, 109 yards receiving) caught a seven yard pass from Justin Stephenson (14-of-22, 167 yards passing).
The Steelmen still led 7-0 early in the second quarter and got to the Eagle five but Stephenson went down with a game-ending injury one play later.
