Some of the top football players in the Chicago area chatted with Yourseason.com Saturday at the Downers Grove South passing 7-on-7 and lineman competition.

This installment of videos includes Glenbard West lineman Chris Watt, Wheaton North running back Mike Trumpy and Hinsdale Central quarterback John Whitelaw.

The 6-4, 285-pound Watt gave an oral commitment to Notre Dame on Sunday. Watt, who had more than 25 scholarship offers, chose the Irish over Northwestern, where his brother Kevin is a redshirt freshman defensive end, and perennial powerhouse Ohio State.

Recruiting analyst Tim O’Halloran ranks Watt, who also plays defensive end and basketball, as the top player in Illinois. Rivals.com lists Watt as the No. 46 prospect in the nation.

Trumpy is a Northwestern recruit. As a junior, he rushed for more than 1,700 yards and 19 touchdowns for the Falcons. He was the DuPage Valley co-offensive Player of the Year and a Chicago Sun-Times All-Area selection.

Whitelaw is one of the best rising junior quarterbacks in the state. Last season as a sophomore, Whitelaw, who is left-handed , ran for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns, while passing for more than 1,284 yards and 14 touchdowns for Hinsdale Central.
