Wauconda star running back Brad Wisniewski, a 2008 graduate, signed with the University of Wyoming earlier this week.

Wisniewski ran for more than 1,000 yards this past season and led Wauconda to the state playoffs for the first time since 1998.

Wisniewski, who was commonly called "Wiz" by his teammates, was also a three-year starter for the Bulldogs.

In an interview with the Sun-Times in September, Wauconda coach Glen Kozlowski compared Wisniewski to former NFL running back Earl Campbell, one of the all-time great power backs.

"In the first and second quarters, linebackers try to hit [Wisniewski] head on. But by the third and the fourth quarters, they're stepping back and trying to take angles at him," Kozlowski said. "He's really a solid ballplayer."

At 6-2, 230 pounds, Wisniewski was also contacted by other Division I schools such as Michigan State and Kansas throughout much of his senior season.
