Oak Park doesn't have a winning record, but the Huskies are going to state.

The Huskies advanced to the state quarterfinals with a 25-23, 25-17 sectional final win over host St. Ignatius Tuesday night.

"After we beat Brother Rice [about a month ago], we started to come together and play more consistent," Oak Park coach Don August said.

In the first game, St. Ignatius closed to 19-18 and 23-22, but couldn't overtake Oak Park (17-22). In the second game the Huskies took a 11-6 lead and never looked back.

The Huskies were led by Mark Brady (eight kills), Charlie Kahn (five kills, three blocks), Blake Austin (three blocks, three kills) and setter Tim Schmidt (21 assists).
