Thursday's boys volleyball roundup

Bogan d. Gage Park 25-13, 25-21: Erik Garcia's 10 kills and four blocks paced visiting Bogan (14-5) to a second-round win in the Public League Playoffs. Luis Cervera added 16 assists for the Bengals.

Lincoln-Way Central d. Homewood-Flossmoor 25-13, 25-16: Corey Bingham's 10 kills and Connor Wexter's eight assists guided Lincoln-Way Central (26-8 overall) to the SouthWest Suburban Red triumph in Flossmoor.

Marist d. Joliet Catholic 25-23, 25-9: Joe Lombard and Evan Bruton both registered seven kills as Marist (19-4, 7-1) won the East Suburban Catholic Conference match in Chicago's Mount Greenwood community. Bruton also had nine blocks, while Dave Brusich added 14 assists.

Oak Forest d. Argo 25-11, 25-16: Nick Pikor finished with 14 service points, seven digs and five aces in leading host Oak Forest to the South Suburban crossover win. Jared Sparrey and Scott England added seven and five kills, respectively, for the Bengals.

Oak Lawn d. Shepard 25-22, 25-21: Alex Chigas totaled 19 assists as host Oak Lawn (21-12, 11-1) won the South Suburban crossover. Randy Hansen (nine kills, five digs, two aces, two blocks) and Ryan Altenburg (seven kills, three blocks, dig) also contributed for the Spartans.

Oak Park d. Leyden 25-19, 25-19: Mark Brady led the way for the Huskies (13-21, 2-3 Western Suburban) with six kills, two digs, and a block in their conference win. Blake Austin (two kills, five blocks, two digs), Charlie Kahn (two kills, four blocks), Drew Summer (two digs), and Ian Squires (dig) also contributed for Oak Park.

Reavis d. Eisenhower 25-14, 25-10: Noe Lara's 19 assists and three kills paced Reavis (20-11, 9-3) in the South Suburban Red match in Burbank. Jake Jerkovich added seven kills and eight blocks for the Rams.

Richards d. Lemont 25-12, 25-22: Steve Denison dished out 15 assists and Majdi Razick pounded eight kills as Richards (8-14, 4-5) won the South Suburban crossover in Oak Lawn.

St. Patrick d. Marian Catholic 25-19, 28-25: Pat O'Malley's 15 assists and six digs led visiting Marian Catholic (10-14, 2-6) in the East Suburban Catholic Conference loss. John McCanna (6 kills, block) and Keith Haines (6 blocks, 2 digs) also contributed for the Spartans.

Sandburg d. Lockport 25-15, 25-12: Dave Walery recorded five aces and 11 digs as visiting Sandburg (25-7, 11-0) triumphed in the SouthWest Suburban Blue. Matt Fox (six kills, three blocks) and Tyler Parks (four kills, two blocks) both aided the cause for the Eagles.

Stagg d. Joliet 25-21, 25-16: Jake Jakelski totaled 13 assists, five service points and three kills in leading Stagg (13-19, 4-5) to the SouthWest Suburban Blue triumph in Palos Hills.
