Rusty Lavaja had nine kills and Kegan Haesli added 21 assists as St. Charles North upended St. Charles East 25-10, 25-21.

Jeff Jones (11 assists), Shawn Courtney (five kills) and Chris Brucher (three kills) paced the Saints.

Bartlett d. Elgin 25-17, 25-13: Sam Hilils (eight kills), John Campolo (five kills) and Jason Theobald (17 assists) paced Bartlett (13-10, 4-2 UEC).

Buffalo Grove d. Hersey 25-12, 25-18: Joe Ascher led Buffalo Grove (9-0) with nine kills. Greg Wajda added seven kills and Tom Angerame chipped in six assists in the win.

Carmel d. Notre Dame 25-19, 25-18: The Corsairs prevailed behind the play of Josh Garwood (eight kills, seven blocks), Zach Engels (six kills) and Mike Geske (10 assists).

Lake Forest d. Zion-Benton 25-19, 25-15: Rohan Vashi fueled No. 9 Lake Forest's offense, finishing with 12 assists.

Montini d. Wheaton Academy 25-17, 25-23: Montini (8-5) was led by Dan Dowtagas, who had 12 kills. Matt Cook contributed eight blocks, and Kevin Cerven added 18 assists.

Oak Lawn d. Lemont 25-13, 25-19: Visiting Oak Lawn (20-12, 10-1) was a winner in the South Suburban crossover. Alex Chigas distributed 17 assists, and Jeff Baure added five kills and six digs.

Oswego d. Minooka 25-21, 25-19: At Oswego, Matt Phillips produced seven kills and Robert Krumlinde six for the Indians (6-9) in the Southwest Prairie Conference defeat. Dominic Filardi registered 18 assists and Matt Omatto had two digs. Ryne Jacobson and Nick Alexander had two kills.

Plainfield South d. Romeoville 25-17, 25-18: At Romeoville, Dan Sheets-Poling had five kills and eight aces for the Cougars in the Southwest Prairie Conference win. Ben Simmering had eight kills and two blocks. Justin Decenski added five kills and an ace.

Reavis d. Argo 25-15, 25-16: Ben Higgins totaled nine kills and five blocks for Reavis (19-11, 8-3) in the South Suburban Red match in Burbank. Also starring for the Rams was George Andrews, who dished out 18 assists.

Riverside-Brookfield d. St. Ignatius 20-25, 25-14, 25-23: Peter Doerrer registered 13 kills and 19 digs for visiting St. Ignatius (12-10) in the nonconference match.

Sandburg d. Stagg 25-20, 29-27: Sandburg (24-7, 10-0) won the Southwest Suburban Blue match in Orland Park behind George Trikolas (seven kills) and Dave Walery (11 digs).

Shepard d. Richards 25-15, 25-16: Ken de Groh had nine kills and Mark Davis distributed 25 assists as Shepard (18-7, 9-2) garnered the South Suburban crossover win in Oak Lawn.

Streamwood d. Larkin 21-25, 25-12, 25-15: Streamwood received 36 assists from Lou Coletti and Kevin Wohlhart added 11 kills. Larkin was led by Brendyn Dobbeck (18 assists), Brad Potts (10 kills) and Joe Leganski (eight kills).

Public League Playoffs

Amundsen d. Schurz 25-21, 25-16: Hiep Le's 16 assists helped lead the way for Amundsen (15-7). Carl Gan eight kills and three blocks in the win.

Bogan d. Hubbard 25-12, 25-15: Erik Garcia (14 kills, 10 digs) and Osvaldo Rosales (eight kills, eight digs) led Bogan (13-5) to the first-round Public League playoff victory.

Kelvyn Park d. Hancock 25-6, 25-7: Kelvyn Park (23-7) was led by Luis Lopez, who finished with eight kills and seven digs. Luis Vega and Andrew Alvarez each had six kills for Kelvyn Park. Adrian Macedo added 13 assists and three kills in the win.

Lincoln Park d. Lakeview 25-9, 25-13: Howard Hu led Lincoln Park (17-9) with 10 kills.

Northside d. Little Village 25-6, 25-7: Northside (24-2) was led by Kevin Menczynski, who finished with three blocks, eight kills. Craig Melhuse finished with two blocks and five kills.

Von Steuben d. South Shore 25-13, 19-25, 25-10: Von Steuben (9-10) was led by Jonathon Miller, who finished with eight kills and five blocks. Bailey Chao added 10 kills in the win.
