Brett Harper and Lake Zurich didn't waste any time.

Harper tallied just two minutes into the game to help lead the Bears past Schaumburg 6-1 in the Class 3A supersectional at Barrington. Lake Zurich (20-4) will meet the Edwardsville/Eisenhower winner Friday in the state semifinals.

Harper took a spectacular cross from Tim Kreutz and beat Schaumburg keeper Peyton Irmen.

"It was a real good opening to the game," Harper said. "We came out hard and fast. We knew they would be tough."

The Bears got another highlight-reel goal in the 15th minute. Jack Rathe delivered a 35-yard cross to Brendan Seeger, who headed it into the back of the net.

Harper tallied again in the 28th minute. He took a pass from John Pothast and had his shot stopped and then recovered to score on the rebound.

Kreutz scored his second of the game in the 44th minute on a pass from Nick Janus.

Blake Nelson kept Schaumburg (13-6-1) from being shut out when he scored in the 64th minute.

Pothast scored for the Bears on a breakaway in the 71st minute and Janus scored in the 77th minute.
