Lew Adams wasn't without a job for long.
Adams, who guided Englewood to a breakout campaign last winter in the final season before the school closes, has been hired as the new boys basketball coach at Orr .
Englewood advanced to the Class 2A sectional finals before losing 70-68 to eventual state champ North Lawndale. The Eagles also reached the Public League semifinals where they fell to another state champ, 3A winner Marshall.
Nine of the 12 players on Adams' fourth and final Englewood team -- which finished 24-4 overall and 9-1 in the Red-East -- received college scholarships.
"My experience at Englewood is one I will never forget," Adams said. "It will be a work in progress at Orr, but we will get things going in the right direction."
Orr was 15-14 last season, including 6-4 in the Blue-Northwest.
