I wish I was writing this after having won a state championship, but unfortunately I am not. In life, you find out that everything doesn’t always go as you expected, but you have to move on.

I will now start another chapter in my life as I get ready to take on a tougher obstacle and prepare for college. There is no time for days off. Since the season ended, I have been in the gym constantly working to get better and prepare myself for college.

As I look back on my high school career, I can truly say that I gave it my all every single game. I would like to thank all of my coaches for everything they have done for me through high school, both on and off the court. I have learned so much from them, and I don’t think I would have been able to get that knowledge from anywhere else.

Also, to my teammates who have been there with me: I appreciate all the hard work you guys put in. It was a joy for me to see you succeed on and off the court.

I have built strong relationships with all my teammates, and that’s something that I will cherish for the rest of my life. For all the seniors: We have been through a lot together for the last four years, but I am very thankful to have such friends and teammates like you guys.

As I end this journal, I just want to say that God has blessed me with far more than I could ever ask for: a caring family, great coaching staff and the best teammates any player could ever ask for.

It was fun while it lasted.

I do have one final request: Win state for me next year!

Editor’s note
