Twelve players scored for No. 7 Lake Forest as the Scouts rolled over Carmel 71-44 Tuesday in nonconference play.
Matt Vogrich (19 points) did not come into the game until there was 2:33 left in the first quarter. He immediately scored seven points it give Lake Forest an early 13-8 lead — a lead the Scouts (20-3) would never relinquish.
The Scouts made only 19 of 27 free throws but they did not need them as Carmel (5-20) never threatened after Vogrich came in.
“It was a rough game,” Vogrich said. “I’m not too concerned about all the missed free throws because overall we are a good free throw shooting team.”
Charlie Kenning scored 11 points for Lake Forest while Mitch Hopfinger added nine.
Patrick Cox of Carmel was the game’s leading scorer with 21 points. He carried the load as two Corsairs fouled out in the third quarter as Lake Forest rolled to a 52-30 advantage.
