Brooks fought off a case of the jitters against host Fenger to earn a 67-53 Red-South victory on Thursday.

The Titans committed 15 turnovers in the second half, nine in the fourth quarter. Brooks, on the other hand, opened the fourth with a 9-2 run to take a 55-46 lead with 4:26 remaining on a driving layup by George Marshall.

Solid free-throw shooting down the stretch helped clinch the game as the Eagles converted 14 of 16 free throws in the final quarter.

“It was a great team effort and a difficult place to win," Brooks coach Chris Head said.

Marshall led four players in double figures with 15 points. Mike Powell added 14 points, while Keenan Smith had 12 and Corey Jumper scored 10 for Brooks (13-4, 4-1).

Melvin Gates and Kevin Davis each scored 12 for Fenger (7-7, 2-2). Jerod Carter had 10 points and 11 rebounds.
