Ryan Crow was sure that Plainfield North would not suffer a letdown after the Tigers' successful run at the Pontiac tournament.

The 6-6 senior came off the bench to score 17, spark a 14-2 first-quarter run and lead Plainfield (14-2, 4-0) to a 64-50 Southwest Prairie victory over visiting Romeoville.

Romeoville's Devon Hodges, a 6-7 sophomore who committed to Wisconsin on Sunday, scored eight points on 4-of-7 shooting and grabbed seven rebounds.

"Coach [Nick DiForti] was afraid that we were getting cocky and a little full of ourselves after Pontiac," Crow said. "We wanted to make sure we didn't have a letdown tonight."

Crow entered the game midway through the first quarter and immediately made his presence felt. He canned a pair of free throws and then drained back-to-back three-pointers to up Plainfield's lead to 15-6.

"I don't mind coming off the bench," Crow said. "Coach gives me plenty of minutes."

As has been the case for Plainfield all season, balanced scoring was a key with four players scoring in double figures. The second quarter belonged to Kendall Frank, who scored six of his 12 points in that period. Reggie Lemon scored 12 as well, picking his spots while running the offense.

Scott Vachon scored 14 of his 16 points in the second half with most coming off nice feeds to the post from various players.

Earl Bell opened the second half with six straight points to cut the lead to 30-25 but that's as close as the Spartans (7-5, 3-1) would get. Demarius Miller added 17 for Romeoville.
