JCA's Karges signs with Saint Louis

Joliet Catholic setter Amelia Karges has signed a national letter of intent to attend Saint Louis University on a full volleyball scholarship.

Saint Louis was ranked 43rd among NCAA Division I schools last season and will be playing in its new Convocation Center next season. Its first match in the new arena will be against Stanford.

Karges played four years of volleyball at JCA and has played six years of club volleyball. She most recently has played club with Avalanche out of Aurora.

Karges is interested in studying dietetics and nutrition. She had been planning to be one of five walk-ons at Saint Louis, but when one of the scholarships became available, it was offered to her.
