A couple of mistakes and a lot of Joe Frahm lifted Whitney Young to a 2-1 win over Lake View Tuesday afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field.

‘‘There’s no better feeling than this,’’ said Young coach Chris Cassidy, whose Dolphins (29-4) repeated as city champions. ‘‘It takes time to build a program, and these kids have worked so hard to make it happen. We wanted to put pressure on them. They haven’t been in this situation and it showed.’’

Lake View (20-10) got on the board in the bottom of the first with pitcher Deion Geiger’s bloop single to center that scored leadoff man Carlos Ruiz.

In the top of the fifth, the Dolphins’ Jack Cinoman reached on an error. Valmer Jordan laid down a bunt, and Geiger’s throw to second caromed into center field to advance the runners. Cassidy called for a fake squeeze to see what the defense would do. Cinoman made a short, hard sprint toward the plate, and Geiger stepped off the rubber and was called for a balk. Jordan scored on Geiger’s wild pitch.

Frahm (6-0) scattered six singles, struck out seven and gave the Wildcats a number of different looks.

‘‘It was off-speed all day,’’ Frahm said. ‘‘I wanted to keep them off-balance. They have good sticks, but they are mostly fastball hitters.’’

A diet of sliders, cutters, curves, knuckles and changes did the trick for Frahm.

‘‘My arm doesn’t hurt at all,’’ Frahm said. ‘‘I feel like I could pitch Thursday [against Oak Park]. This is incredible [since] I grew up a Sox fan to come out here, pitch at Comiskey Park and repeat as city champs.’’

Geiger pitched a solid game, giving up five hits in five innings while stranding seven runners.

In the fifth, Lake View intentionally walked No. 3 hitter Troy White and Julian Kenner to face Adeniji Bowden. He induced Bowden to fly out to center to end the inning.
