Young pitcher Jack Cinaman used his arm and his bat to lead the Dolphins to a 2-1 victory over St. Ignatius in the Class 4A St. Ignatius Regional championship on Saturday.

Cinaman did not have his best stuff early in the game as St. Ignatius (24-9)jumped to a one-run lead in the first inning on a two-out RBI single by Steve Ragalie which scored Paul Ramboud.

Cinaman settled down and only allowed one hit the rest of the way and finished with four strikeouts and no walks.

Cinaman got things going in the third inning when he opened up with a triple and was pinch-run for by Frank Gowden, who scored on a fielder’s choice by Dellmer Jordan. The Dolphins (28-4) finished off the inning when Joe Frahm singled in Troy White.

‘‘After the first inning Jack relaxed and we played great defense behind him,’’ Young coach Chris Cassidy said. ‘‘They are a great team and we had just enough offense to hold them off.’’
