Jack Cinamon's pitching and hitting helped No. 11 Young roll past Kenwood 12-2 Friday in Public League quarterfinal action.
Cinamon earned the win and was 2-for-3 with two RBI for the Dolphins (25-4), who advance to Monday's semifinals at UIC. John Schreiber added an RBI triple for Young.
Lake View 5, Taft 3: Joey Munoz was 3-for-3 with a triple as the Wildcats (19-8) advanced to the Public League semifinals.
Winning pitcher Ulises Ortiz struck out five in 3 2/3 innings.
Simeon 11, Jones 7: Winning pitcher Michael McSmith was 4-for-4 with four RBI as the Wolverines (18-5) won the Public League quarterfinal.
Christian Hickman had two hits with a three-run homer for Simeon.
Marshall 28, Vocational 3: Courtney Davidson went 3-for-5 with two homers -- one of them a grand slam -- and seven RBI as the Commandos (16-5) won in Public League consolation action.

Joliet Catholic 24, Plainfield South 2: Stephen Cservanyak went 3-for-3 with a grand slam and five RBI as the top-ranked Hilltoppers (26-5) cruised in nonconference action.
Nick Ratajczak (2-for-2, homer, two RBI) and Brian Budzinski (3-for-3, three runs) also contributed offensively for JCA.
Andrew 12, Shepard 4: Will Morgan, Joe Cesario, Matt Guth and Ryan O'Connor all had two hits as the Thunderbolts (20-11) improved to 18-6 since a 2-5 start. Nick Szynal pitched a seven-hitter for the win.
Antioch 6, Harvard 3: Ken Karagiorgas was 2-for-4 with a double and a solo homer to pace the Sequoits (15-12) to the nonconference win.
Andy Kloster (3-1) pitched a three-hitter for the win, striking out six and walking five.
Barrington 12, Hersey 4: Gus Handler was 2-for-2 with a homer and four RBI to lead the Broncos (16-12-1) to the Mid-Suburban crossover win.
Tim Conroy doubled, homered and drove in three runs for Barrington, while Connor Jenkins was 2-for-3 and an RBI.
Bartlett 17, Lake Park 10: Ryan Schrader was 4-for-5 with three homers to power the Hawks (17-9, 16-8) to the Upstate Eight win.
Also among those contributing for Bartlett were Ryan Walker (3-for-4, double), Alex VanNess (3-for-5), Mike Derby (2-for-5, homer) and winning pitcher Jon Wojdula (2-for-3, double).
Batavia 5, Yorkville 0: Jordan Coffey (6-2) pitched a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Bulldogs (17-12, 12-9) won in the Western Sun.
Alex Beckmann, Brad Brandenburg, Mike Sentman, Tim Drish and Coffey all had two of Batavia's 13 hits.
Buffalo Grove 7, Conant 2: James Baker was 2-for-2 with a double and triple to lead the Bison (9-14) won the Mid-Suburban crossover.
Nick Ciaccio pitched four shutout innings, fanning four, to earn the win.
Crystal Lake Central 6, Huntley 2: Jake Heckman was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and Lee Spinelle went 2-for-3 with a run as the Tigers won in the Fox Valley Fox.
Tyler Funke had two hits and scored a run for Huntley.
Fenwick 15, St. Joseph 1: Joe Ketcik was 3-for-3 with three RBI and Steve Churma homered as the Friars (18-8) rolled in nonconference action.
Glenbard North 6, Glenbard East 3: Steve Cocat's RBI single in the top of the eighth broke a 3-3 tie and lifted the Panthers (13-10, 13-8) past the Rams (9-22-1, 6-15) in the DuPage Valley.
Steve Cocat was 2-for-3 with a homer and four RBI for North. Winning pitcher Austin Safranski (6-3) was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple.
Bob Ryan doubled twice and drove in two runs for East.
Grayslake North 7, Johnsburg 6: Nick Harrington (2-for-4, two runs, two RBI) and Tim Elias (2-for-4, run, two RBI) led the Knights (10-16, 5-10) to the Fox Valley Fox win. Winning pitcher Nate Sousa (4-1) fanned five in five innings.
Illiana Christian 5-9, Wheaton Academy 1-0: Jent Botterman picked up the win in the opener as the Vikings won the completion of a suspended game to clinch the Private School League title.
In the nightcap, Vince Van Schouwen worked four innings to get his first varsity win and Casey Mast finished.
Libertyville 11, Maine South 4: Tim Matheson and Tom Jacobson homered to lead the Wildcats (22-12) to the nonconference win. Brooks McDowell went the distance, striking out nine and allowing five hits.
Loyola 13, Warren 5: Alex De La Rosa went 3-for-5 with a double, homer, two runs and four RBI as the Ramblers (18-12) won in nonconference action.
Jack Keating went four innings for the win, fanning four.
Marian Catholic 15, Rich South 5: Mark Scott hit a three-run homer and Andres Rodriguez was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI as the Spartans (13-17) rolled past the Stars.
McHenry 7, Jacobs 6: The Warriors overcame a 4-2 deficit in the bottom of the seventh and a 6-4 deficit in the bottom of the ninth before winning the Fox Valley Valley game in the bottom of the 10th.
Matt Igara was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBI for McHenry and Kyle Magnuson went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI.
Zach Badgely (3-for-4, homer, three runs, three RBI) paced McHenry.
Oswego East 14, Sandwich 8: Brendan Griffin was 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs scored and five RBI as the Wolves (7-22) topped the Indians (16-15). Brad Crackel went 3-for-3 with a homer and two RBI.
John Hutchison was 2-for-4 with two runs scored for Sandwich.
Providence 6, Minooka 4: Chuck Triana's two-run, walkoff homer in the eighth lifted the Celtics (19-12-1) past the Indians . Triana finished 3-for-4 with a run scored and four RBI.
Bryan Davis was 2-for-4 and scored a run for Providence, while Casey Webber (6-2) fanned four in 2 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win.
Mike Foltynewicz homered twice for Minooka.
St. Charles East 15, Streamwood 10: Mike Hoscheit homered twice and finished 3-for-5 with four RBI as the Saints (17-13, 16-8) outslugged the Sabres in the Upstate Eight.
Also contributing to East's 20-hit attack were Steve Schenck (4-for-4, homer, three RBI), Zach Scott (3-for-3), Dan White (3-for-4, homer, two RBI) and Chris Burgess (2-for-5, two RBI).
Sycamore 3, Geneva 1: Corey Ullmark pitched a six-hitter and fanned seven to lead the Spartans past the Vikings (18-10, 11-10) in the Western Sun.
West Chicago 6, West Aurora 4: Ethan Burau and Josh Yednock homered as the Wildcats (10-15, 8-13) prevailed in the DuPage Valley. Jordan Long (4-2) pitched a nine-hitter and fanned six.
Wheaton North 9, WW South 0: Winning pitcher Trey Martin (4-0) fanned eight and hit a three-run homer for the Falcons (19-12).

Coal City 9, Ottawa Marquette 3: J.T. Blaine doubled and homered to help the Coalers (18-11) advance to the Class 2A Ottawa Marquette Regional final.
CLASS 1A REGIONALS
Immaculate Conception 9, Indian Creek 8, 8 inn.: The Knights scored five in the top of the seventh and another run in the eighth on Carlos Rodriquez's hit to reach the Class 1A Somonauk Regional final.
Greg Hess was 3-for-3 for Indian Creek.
