Bradley-Bourbonnais rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the final two innings to knock off Lincoln-Way East 5-4 in a SouthWest Suburban Red showdown on Monday in Frankfort.
The Boilermakers (14-6, 8-3) scored a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh inning to establish control in the league race over the Griffins (14-6, 5-4).
Devin Reece (5-2) scattered eight hits and struck out eight to collect the complete game victory. He gave up half of those hits during the Griffins' four-run second inning.
In the seventh inning, pinch hitter Stuart Sutton got a two-run single to tie things and scored the eventual winning run when Nate Reid (two RBI) was hit by a pitch, the third Boilermaker to get hit during that frame.
"We're fighters and we're going to battle with anybody in every game," Reece said. "It's a great feeling to win this game and it shows that we have character. Now we need to beat Homewood-Flossmoor to win the title."
Bradley pulled to within 4-2 in the sixth inning when Reid hit a sacrifice fly against Griffin starter Josh Folgers, who only allowed three hits during his six innings on the mound.
The Boilermakers took advantage of a pair of Griffin errors in the second to score the first run on a fielder's choice by Austin Johnson. The hosts then responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning.
Lincoln-Way East took advantage of two errors to score its first run before Brandon Hohl (2-for-3) and Spencer Stanek (2-for-2) got RBI hits. Lloyd Burchett later drove in another run with a bunt single.
Nick Jones also went 2-for-2 for the Boilermakers, who made three errors but benefited from the five errors that were committed by the Griffins.
