Brother Rice 5, Marist 4: Brian McQuillan's suicide squeeze with one out in the bottom of the seventh scored Justin Biondo to lift the Crusaders (7-2) to the South Suburban Summer League win. Ryan Koziol, who hit a solo homer earlier in the game, had scored the tying run on Biondo's double.
Kevin Koziol and Matt Klein also drove in runs for Rice, while Charlie Finn (3-0) got the win with 5 2/3 innings of two-hit relief. He fanned five.
Lincoln-Way North 10, Lockport 9: The Phoenix (8-1) prevailed in the South Suburban Summer League despite giving up seven unearned runs. Victor Frederickson drove in the game-winner in the seventh, while A.J, Neufeld and Kevin Majchrzak both had two hits.
St. Patrick 14, Guerin 3: Joey Igyarto and Jeremy Daugherty hit consective homers in a five-run fifth inning as the Shamrocks rolled in the Near West Suburban Summer League. Devin Pickel struck out 12 and allowed four hits in five innings for the win.
