Stanten Jones pitched a two-hitter to lead Homewood-Flossmoor past Marist 11-1 in six innings Tuesday in the quarterfinals of the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association Richards Regional.

Alex Mitropoulos went 4-for-4 with a three-run homer for the Vikings (9-1), while Nick Norris slugged a two-run homer.

H-F plays Brother Rice at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the semifinals.

LOCKPORT REGIONAL

Lincoln-Way East 11, Joliet Catholic 8: Derek Siadek had three hits, scored two runs and drove in another to lead the Griffins (11-2) past the Hilltoppers (14-3).

George Patteson and Brandon Holh both homered for East.

Steve Cservenyak had three hits, including a homer, for JCA.

East plays Sandburg at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the semifinals.

Sandburg 15, Stagg 5: Alex Kazmierski was 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs scored and four RBI as the Eagles (17-3) soared past the Chargers (12-9) in quarterfinal action.

Also putting up big numbers for the defending summer state champs were Tony Stramaglia (2-for-5, three runs, RBI), Ian O'Connor (2-for-5, RBI), Lucas Fritsch (2-for-2, three runs, RBI) and Matt Mistretta (2-for-4, two RBI).

Troy Jozsa went the distance for the win, striking out nine.

Justin Ringo slugged a two-run homer for Stagg.
