Senior Night at Oak Park brought out the best in both the Huskies and Hinsdale Central.
Oak Park scored the final 15 points of the game and maintained its hold on first place in the West Suburban Silver with a 78-61 victory Thursday.
‘‘This was very special for me,’’ said Adam Taylor, who scored a career-high 20 points.
‘‘This is our final regular-season home game, and we wanted to do well for our fans.’’
The Red Devils (12-9, 3-6) hung tough as Nick Kladis hit a three-pointer to pull Hinsdale Central within 63-61 with 2:20 to play.
Iman Shumpert (20 points) scored 13 in the fourth quarter, and Taylor scored four points as the Huskies (19-5, 8-2) went on their final run.
Also contributing were Daniel Barnes with 16 points and Marcus Acree with 11.
‘‘Danny and I got into foul trouble in the first half,’’ Shumpert said. ‘‘We really couldn’t get anything going — but once I was able to get a couple of jams, it got the crowd going and it got me going.’’
