Thursday's summer baseball roundup

Lincoln-Way North 8, Lincoln-Way Central 5: The Phoenix (10-1) rolled bases-loaded double plays to get out of a couple of jams and went on to earn the South Suburban Summer League win. Alex Eaton drove in three runs for North, one more than Colin Hannigan and Jimmy Hermle. Luis Velasco saved the victory for Eric Wilson.

St. Rita 6, Brother Rice 4: Sophomore Chris Stroberl won his varsity debut, allowing two earned runs in six innings, as the Mustangs (6-1) knocked off the Crusaders (8-3) in the South Suburban Summer League. Mark Payton hit a solo homer, walked twice and stole a base for St. Rita.
