Schaumburg basketball coach Bob Williams will resign Monday.
"I've decided I'm going to resign on Monday," Williams said. "It was a mutual thing between myself and the administration, just an ongoing difference in philosophies.
"The last 18 years has been incredible. I've had great things happen and worked with incredible people. I feel proud and comfortable with the job we've done at Schaumburg."
Williams coached the Saxons to the Class AA state championship in 2001. Schaumburg defeated Thornwood and Eddy Curry in the title game.
The Saxons were 20-7 last season and 347-156 in Williams' 18 years as head coach.
Williams will continue to teach at Schaumburg for the rest of this school year, but he may be open to other coaching opportunities next year.
"I don't know for sure at this point," Williams said. "I'm excited about other opportunities, but at the same time I'm very involved in the Schaumburg community."
