6A | SACRED HEART-GRIFFIN AT PROVIDENCE

When: 1 p.m.

Where: 1800 W. Lincoln Hwy., New Lenox.

Records: SHG 11-1, Providence 8-4

Outlook: Providence is the first team to finish last in a conference and make the semifinals. Its defense, led by DB Shane Paty and LB Joe Michals, has three shutouts in four games. The offense is led by junior TB Tim Hanrahan, who has 261 carries for 1,865 yards and 17 TDs The Cyclones have won 11 in a row. QB Tim Dondanville has thrown for 2,198 yards and 25 TDs, while Gary Wilson has run for 1,438 yards with 25 TDs.

6A | ANTIOCH AT LEMONT

When: 6 p.m.

Where: 800 Porter St.

Records: Both teams are 12-0

Outlook: Antioch advanced to the semifinals for the first time since 1982 behind a high-scoring offense averaging over 41 points. RBs Cameron White (1,718 yards, 35 TDs) and Steve Lorenzini (1,123, 8 TDs) and QB Matt Romani lead the Sequoits. Lemont, which fell in last year’s Class 6A title game to Joliet Catholic, is averaging more than 35 points. The offense features RB Danny Hayes (1,627, 25 TDs). On defense, LBs Ryan Fejedelem and Connor Nagel each have over 100 total tackles.

5A | KANKAKEE AT ST. FRANCIS

When: 1 p.m.

Where: 2130 W. Roosevelt, Wheaton.

Records: St. Francis 11-1, Kankakee 9-3

Outlook: Both teams will be vying for a first trip to the state championship. Kankakee won the last two games after being down by two TDs. Jalon Banks and Render Smith keyed last week’s comeback against Morris by combining for 238 yards rushing. Charles Smith will look for Julian Bogan through the air. Two-way stars Stan Bobowski FB/LB and Mark Kachmer HB/LB lead St. Francis, who avenged their loss to Montini last week.

4A | AURORA CHRISTIAN AT RICHMOND-BURTON

When: 1 p.m.

Where: 8311 Rte. 31, Richmond.

Records: Aurora Christian 12-0, R-B 8-4

Outlook: Richmond-Burton, which won the 2A title in 1992 has won its last seven. Aurora Christian QB Jordan Roberts, who owns the state mark in career passing yards and TD passes, will throw to Dave Zielke and Matt Morse while Lewis Gaddis will run. The Eagles’ David Anderson, Braxton Warner, Peter Kariotis, Andru Ubert and Zielke will try to slow the Rockets’ offense which has averaged over 34 points in the playoffs.

2A | IMMACULATE CONCEPTION AT CLIFTON CENTRAL

When: 5 p.m.

Where: 1134 E. Country Rd. 3100N.

Records: IC 8-4, Clifton Central 10-2

Outlook: Clairvoyance? When Clifton’s Brian Spooner and staff were scouting potential opponents, they watched IC. ‘‘They have a good group of athletes and really coach ‘em up,’’ Spooner said. IC’s Carlos Rodriguez (1,330 yards) and Paul Hornstra (1,230) run behind 6-6, Matt Purdom, Dan Delaney, Robert Rivera, Marco Medina and Josh Fenton. Central counters with LB Austin Yohnka and TBs Jarrett Hixson and Logan Mathy.

CATHOLIC LEAGUE | DE LA SALLE AT LOYOLA

When: noon.

Where: 1100 Laramie, Wilmette.

Records: Loyola 9-3; De la Salle 8-4

Outlook: The Catholic League spot in the Prep Bowl is on the line. Loyola rebounded from its state playoff loss to Maine South by routing St. Laurence. Jack Begley rushed for two TDs. QB Lucas Ruske is dangerous running or throwing. Linemen Chance Carter, Patrick Hickey and LB Matthew Hinkamp form a potent rush. De La Salle LB Nate Bowman leads an athletic defense that has pitched four shutouts. QB Tom Lally and RB Mark Kaspar are the primary offense threats.

PUBLIC LEAGE | LANE VS. HUBBARD

When: 1 p.m.

Where: Hanson, 5411 W. Fullerton.

Records: Both teams are 10-2

Outlook: Lane is looking for its first city championship since 2004. Coach Rich Rio said the key to beating Hubbard is to play a total team game. Allen Rashee’s return of the opening kickoff for a TD set the tome against Morgan Park. Chris Kyles had two interceptions. Hubbard coach Elton Harris said the focal point for his team is to focus and get past the let down of losing in the state playoffs. Hubbard is loaded with talent, headed by All-Area LB Darrius Moffett. The X-factor is K Otneil Gross.
